Oppo R1x Smartphone Refreshingly New!

Do not be surprised if you are hearing this brand for the first time. Although it is touted as an international brand, Oppo is not available outside Asia. It has recently made its debut in India and the latest model, the Oppo R1x has already created waves in the Indian market.  The below par marketing strategies apart, stripping down to pure credentials, the Oppo R1x is as good as any medium range smartphone out there, if not better.

It comes with an attractive design giving its users a feel of premium smartphones in affordable prices. This is in contrast to its competitors where they focus more or better hardware and eventually miss out in providing a better designed smartphone to its customers.

The Oppo R1x comes with a 5 inch display and an HD panel which is more than decent for a smartphone of that range. The screen resolution is brilliant and complements the battery capacity of this smartphone. The Octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU (4x 1.7GHz plus 4x 1.0GHz) Adreno 405 GPU; Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset which is ubiquitous in the premium smartphone category makes its presence in the Oppo R1x with 2 GB RAM. So there is really no question about the performance of this smartphone which can be compared to the best in this segment.

It supports dual Sim, but the second slot only supports 2G network. This occupies the micro SD slot; hence you will have to make do with the 16 GB internal memory of the phone. Coming to camera features, there is a lavish 13 MP primary camera and 5 MP front camera to add fun to your photos. It also supports 1080@30fps, 480p@120fps video recording.

It comes with a 2420 mAH battery which can adequately power the device. One of the main disadvantages of this phone is the lack of Gorilla case which makes it a prime candidate for broken screen at a heavy impact. This can be compensated to some extent by using a decent protective cover. Also, the Android KitKat OS doesn’t look that impressive on paper.

Apart from this, the Oppo R1x is a decent buy for someone looking for a mid range smartphone.
